You definitely need a changing table and drawers or shelf for diapers wipes clothes you can reach with just one hand. Sing pray talk and read to the baby all the time I played a game from the time mine were born talking to them and then had them talk back helps them hear and learn how to move their mouths and start making noises so perilous also helped them talk sooner

Take a lot of pictures throughout his first year...they change so much every month

Don't tiptoe. Make sure when you are in the hospital and when you bring the baby home make sure there is music playing. Even in the car play music. We dud thus with my son, and he slept through voices, outside noise, and even thunderstorms

Ya all are doing great getting everything ready!❤ When little one starts to crawl be careful that he doesn't crawl under the recliner when foot rest is lifted. I did that as a child and cut my finger really badly bc I was messing with the mechanisms that bend when my dad accidentally started to put the foot rest down as I had my finger in there. Ugh. Stuff you have to think of with kids. Hope that made sense. Just to be aware.

Do not talk to the baby in the middle of the night, and just use a night light for changing/feeding in the middle of the night. Don't want him to think night time is for play time

There are cribs that sta.rt a.s a crib, goes to a toddler bed, then a full size bed. My brother and sis in law, got one for each of their kids. Now the kids are 20 and 23 and each have their regular beds that were their cribs.

You might actually air dry a lot of his clothes! The sun helps to bleach stains out of his clothes and babies can make a lot of them! 💩

Lucian is a boy name I have loved for the last year! I don't hear it much! I can't wait for baby Bates! I love Lawson being this excited!!! I grew up in san Diego. My son was born there. The best time to go to the San Diego zoo is when they open as they feed most animals then where you get to see the most activity from them. Check the zoo near you as its probably the same however San Diego zoo has so many animals!!!

Love the nursery!! You’ll be wonderful parents! I would have to securely fasten the Psalm 23 above the crib instead of using tape. I would fear it coming loose and falling in the crib on the baby. 😮 That’s an overly cautious grandma comment!! Love y’all! ❤❤

We became a family through adoption four years ago. Things we found useful were having a diaper caddy with handles , it was nice to be able to carry it room to room. We used the pregnancy ball after baby was born. We held her and sat on the ball to bounce her, she did not like the swing and this was a great way to soothe her while keeping her close. We love the Velcro black out curtains to keep a room dark, we still use them and our little is 4 + amazing to use when travelling . Our baby room was on the smaller side, to make use of our limited space, we bought a topper for the dresser that is designed to make it into a change table. I can’t wait to see you as parents. Both my husband and I are half Asian half Caucasian and love it.

When baby sleeps, you sleep. The dishes will wait, the dirty clothes will will still be there, etc. SLEEP!!! Same advice as others, don’t slay quiet. Get baby used to noise. Vacuum, etc while baby sleeps. Don’t hold the baby 24/7. I know you will want to but don’t. There will be time when you can’t and if that’s the only thing the baby is used to you will be in trouble. Get baby monitor. Agree with several other suggestion. Electric plug covers, bolt dresser to wall for safety, let baby sleep in their own room. My first one (1970) I was so worried about not hearing her if she woke at night that I kept her in the room with me. That lasted about two night. I heard every breath, sneeze, moan, etc and woke up every time. If you want sleep put baby in its own room.
